The real Haru is finally beginning to surface. Really curious what her story is. Feels to me like she’s trying not to stand out too much because she’s aware that she’s far superior to the other members, but I wonder if that’s all there is to it.

I'm thinking it's something along those lines too. The irony of Haru wanting to be a "shinepost", yet refusing to stand alone as the brightest would be too tempting a prospect to be left unexplored.

I was going to comment on how Yukine's unwillingness to come clean about her reasons was kinda rude to the bonds of friendship she shares with everyone, but if Haru can't be honest back, then it's definitely a little more understandable, and a very "teenager" thing to do—"if you won't do it, then why should I" kind of deal.

Yeah, I thought all this drama about not explainin' sh!t would end with Yukine having some shallow reasons why she left... but turns out there's more to it... O_O

I think it's the fear of ending up alone because she knows if she showed her true talent, they could push for her to go solo or the other group members would feel inferior to her and she'd feel guilty.

Now it makes sense after we saw episode 8 haru was actually giving it her all must be super hard trying to not stand out and still smile like every thing's fine

Yeah, that's the problem. In seven episodes she's given us NOTHING that would make me care about her. Kyoka and Rio-sama had me at episode 1. Momiji and Yukine won me over a couple episodes later. Manager-kun, too.

Haru... works hard and wants to be a "signpost." She has good "responsiveness." She smiles a lot. She's... really bland. :|

Yeah, but feels to me like that was just the show intentionally avoiding showing us too much of her besides the bubbly facade she’s been putting on…until now.

I just realized, even when Haru's dressed in her school uniform it seems like she tries to conceal herself by braiding her hair and wearing glasses.

it's like she's aware of the fact that she stands out but doesn't want to...probably for the fear of ending up alone which is why she's always trying to match the others because she knows if she were to reveal her true potential, she'd outshine them and that could lead to them disbanding or pushing her to go solo...that's what I think anyways

Oooh Haru's turn to glow! I was wondering how they were gonna reveal her big lie, guess her ability to read the performance is a double edged sword. Honestly I don't blame Yukine for the way she feels though, imagine giving your all to train and the person you know is much better is just coasting to match your level. What a crappy feeling.

I've been waiting this whole time for her façade to crack. Now it finally happens..
I figured it from the beginning really, she's held herself back all this time because shes afraid. She's afraid of losing her friends, she's afraid of being pressured into going solo, she's afraid that exposing her true self, her true skills, her true potential to shine will be too dazzling for anyone to see her friends if they're on the same stage.

She wants to become a shine post, but she wants to do it together or not at all. Because if she does it alone shes terrified deep down that her friends will feel outclassed, and the inferiority complex it could cause in them would take their friendship which she cherishes along with it.

The entertainment industry is harsh. you can chase dreams, you CAN make it, but usually the battle scars to get there run deep.

This is the time i've seen Haru lying and the reason why Yukine left Tings seems like she knows about Haru, thingkin' that she was underestimated or she want to be on the stage with Haru side by side not being overshadowed by her

Well, I'm much more interested in Yukine and Momiji, but I suppose that IS why the show has to go in this direction. Manager-kun's fascination with her aside, Haru is easily the weakest character in the whole show.

I guess it's time to make her shine.
